SAT & ACT Testing

College Admission Tests: SAT, ACT & PSAT

Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other—students can take either the SAT or the ACT.
Most students take their first test in spring of junior year, and again in fall of senior year to improve scores.

Be sure to check each college's website for specific testing requirements. Some may require or recommend subject tests or essays.
Test dates fill quickly and have registration deadlines—plan ahead!

PSAT – Practice & Scholarship Opportunities

The PSAT is a practice version of the SAT, usually taken in the fall of junior year (and sometimes sophomore year).
Taking the PSAT in junior year also qualifies students for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Counselors will visit classrooms in the fall to help with PSAT registration.
